Lincolnville & Camden, Maine has many beautiful places to go hiking! Here are a few suggestions for trails to check out:


  • Ducktrap Enjoy this 3.1-mile loop trail near Lincolnville, Maine. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 3 min to complete. This trail is great for cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

  • Mount Battie: This is a moderate, 2.4-mile round-trip hike that offers stunning views of Penobscot Bay from the summit. The trailhead is located at the top of High Street in Camden. 


  • Ragged Mountain: This is a more strenuous, 4.4-mile round-trip hike that takes you to the summit of Ragged Mountain, where you'll find panoramic views of the surrounding area. The trailhead is located off of Route 52, about 4 miles west of Camden. 


  • Megunticook Trail: This is a moderate, 4.8-mile round-trip hike that follows the Megunticook River and offers beautiful views of the river and the surrounding forest. The trailhead is located on Route 52, about 3 miles west of Camden.

Midcoast Maine boasts not only stunning hiking trails but also a network of scenic routes perfect for cycling enthusiasts of all ability levels. Buckle up, or should we say clip in, for a tour of some of the best biking adventures Midcoast Maine has to offer:


  • Hosmer Brook Trail (2.5 miles, one-way): This scenic, mostly flat trail is a great option for families and casual cyclists. The crushed gravel path winds along Hosmer Brook and offers glimpses of the Camden Hills. The trailhead is located at the Camden Snow Bowl Ski Area, making it a convenient option for cyclists who want to explore the area after a visit to the slopes.


  • The Ragged Mountain Recreation Area: Calling all thrill-seekers! The Ragged Mountain Recreation Area trails feature heart-pumping climbs followed by exhilarating descents. Navigate through rocky terrain and switchbacks, all while immersed in the beauty of the Camden Hills.


  • Belfast Rail Trail (13 miles, one-way): Experience a scenic ride along a former railway line, converted into a multi-use trail. This mostly flat, crushed gravel path is perfect for families and casual cyclists. Enjoy glimpses of rural landscapes, salt marshes, and the Passagassawakeag River.


  • Midcoast Maine Inland Route (up to 160 miles): Embark on a multi-day cycling adventure on this route that stretches from the midcoast region all the way to Downeast Maine. Explore the scenic beauty of three river valleys and discover charming towns and historical sites along the way. This route is geared towards more experienced cyclists due to its distance.
