Maine's midcoast region is home to several beautiful lighthouses, each with its own unique history and charm. Here is a list of some of the most notable lighthouses in the area:


  • Pemaquid Point Lighthouse: Located in Bristol, this lighthouse has been in operation since 1827. It is a popular spot for tourists and offers beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean.
  • Owls Head Light: This lighthouse is located in Owls Head and was first lit in 1825. It is a small, picturesque lighthouse with a white tower and red roof.
  • Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse: Located on a breakwater in Rockland Harbor, this lighthouse has been guiding ships into the harbor since 1902. It is a popular spot for photographers and offers great views of Penobscot Bay.
